عيد الحب أو عيد العشاق أو "يوم القديس فالنتين" مناسبة يحتفل بها الكثير من الناس في كل أنحاء العالم في الرابع عشر من شهر فبراير من كل عام. وفي البلدان الناطقة باللغة الانجليزية، يعتبر هذا هو اليوم التقليدي الذي يعبر فيه المحبون عن حبهم لبعضهم البعض عن طريق إرسال بطاقات عيد الحب أو إهداء الزهور أو الحلوى لأحبائهم. وتحمل العطلة اسم اثنين من (الشهداء) المتعددين للمسيحية في بداية ظهورها، والذين كانا يحملان اسم فالنتين. بعد ذلك، أصبح هذا اليوم مرتبطًا بمفهوم الحب الرومانسي الذي أبدع في التعبير عنه الأديب الانجليزي جيفري تشوسر في أوج العصور الوسطى التي ازدهر فيها الحب الغزلي. ويرتبط هذا اليوم أشد الارتباط بتبادل رسائل الحب الموجزة التي تأخذ شكل "بطاقات عيد الحب". وتتضمن رموز الاحتفال بعيد الحب في العصر الحديث رسومات على شكل قلب وطيور الحمام وكيوبيد ملاك الحب ذي الجناحين. ومنذ القرن التاسع عشر، تراجعت الرسائل المكتوبة بخط اليد لتحل محلها بطاقات المعايدة التي يتم طرحها بأعداد كبيرة. وقد كان تبادل بطاقات عيد الحب في بريطانيا العظمى في القرن التاسع عشر إحدى الصيحات التي انتشرت آنذاك. أما في عام 1847، فقد بدأت استر هاولاند نشاطًا تجاريًا ناجحًا في منزلها الموجود في مدينة ووستر في ولاية ماسشوسيتس؛ فقد صممت بطاقات لعيد الحب مستوحاة من نماذج انجليزية للبطاقات. كان انتشار بطاقات عيد الحب في القرن التاسع عشر في أمريكا - التي أصبحت فيها الآن بطاقات عيد الحب مجرد بطاقات للمعايدة وليست تصريحًا بالحب - مؤشرًا لما حدث في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بعد ذلك عندما بدأ تحويل مثل هذه المناسبة إلى نشاط تجاري يمكن التربح من ورائه.وتشير الإحصائيات التي قامت بها الرابطة التجارية لناشري بطاقات المعايدة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلى أن عدد بطاقات عيد الحب التي يتم تداولها في كل أنحاء العالم في كل عام يبلغ بليون بطاقة تقريبًا، وهو ما يجعل يوم عيد الحب يأتي في المرتبة الثانية من حيث كثرة عدد بطاقات المعايدة التي يتم إرسالها فيه بعد عيد الميلاد. كما توضح الإحصائيات التي صدرت عن هذه الرابطة أن الرجال ينفقون في المتوسط ضعف ما تنفقه النساء على هذه البطاقات في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.

بسيطة.. لو توقف الأمر على التفاحة!!

شاب يعطس رصاصة !!

في طلق ناري عشوائي احتفالاً برأس السنة الجديدة في إيطاليا أصيب عدد من الأشخاص برصاصات طائشة، ومنهم داركو سانجرمانو الذي يبلغ من العمر 28 عاماً حين أصيب بطلق ناري في رأسه، لكنه نجى بأعجوبة!!

فبمجرد وصوله للمستشفى عطس فخرجت الرصاصة من أنفه!!

من حسن حظه أن الرصاصة دخلت من جانب رأسه ومرت خلف عينه لتدخل في المجرى الأنفي، لذا لم يشعر سانجرمانو إلا بالصداع حتى وصوله للمستشفى وخروج الرصاصة. يقول الأطباء أنها الحالة الأولى من نوعها ولم يسمعوا أو يشاهدوا شيئاً كهذا من قبل!!
